USS Bugara's Fate

In response to your question, I found the information about the sinking of the USS Currier at http://bugara.net/. Click on the history link to the left. This website is about the submarine USS Bugara, which sunk the Currier during target practice.

What goes around comes around.......The ex USS Bugara sank in a towing accident in June 1971 . She was being towed to Bangor Naval Ammunitions Depot in Washington to be used as target practice for a new weapons system. The Bugara took water in her stern and sank quickly into the Pacific Ocean before arriving at the depot. The tow ship was able to cut her lines before she sank, and luckily no lives were lost and no one was injured.
I agree that it is a sad fate for these two worthy vessels and the crews that served on them.
