Barbara Welch

The following is an email from Barbara, niece of Roger Noon Currier. She hopes to come to the reunion and share memories and photos from her aunt and uncle of the USS Currier. "I am going to try and come. I have family in the area and will stay with them. As my uncle died on the USS Atlanta at Savo Island I just finished and cannot recommend enough “Neptune’s Inferno” by James D. Hornfischer, it covers the Guadalcanal battle in great details. Also, I was called re: info on my uncle because of an upcoming TV special that will cover a dive (by humans) on the Atlanta…it was done before but by robots. Roger Currier’s son is very home bound but would like to send on some photos also. On film, we have my aunt Betty swinging away with the champagne bottle at the dedication of the USS Currier. Thank you for your email and hope to meet you and you can have the pictures! Mother and Betty’s Dad was a professional photographer so you can imagine the treasure trove I have and hope they are not lost to history."
