11 Jul 1967 Bugara fired a Mark14-5 warshot torpedo, sinking the Ex-USS Currier (DE-700). Bugara's torpedo racked Currier directly under her bridge, severing her keel and leaving her bow sagging as the end neared.
I am sickened by the fate of CURRIER and I hate the image shown. The CURRIER was an ASW ace and deserved better. I went aboard at sonar piers and stayed until decommission at SFRAN. Anybody remember DE700 being struck on fantail by a diesel sub while tied to sonar pier? The year was l959. If so, please let me know as I was on the fantail and the cable lifeline almost cost me my life when it snapped. Al Mathis

It was interesting seeing the picture of the Currier. where did you find it and were there other pictures
